HEA - Data Literacy Project
The project brings together academic staff across STEM disciplines, a physics research student and industry partner and the outputs of the project is now embedded within all lab manuals for year 1 STEM subjects at ATU. Data literacy is the ability to derive meaningful information from data in context (Sperry, 2018). This skill is increasingly becoming more significant with advancements in the field of data science and AI. The novel PIRATE funded interdisciplinary project involving the integration of Micro:bits and coding into first year math, chemistry, physics, and biology labs has been designed to develop students’ data literacy while also allowing transferrable learning across modules
